Welcome to Keystone Log Homes. A family owned business in Central Pennsylvania constructing handcrafted log homes for the past 19 years.

Our structures consist of 10"-20" diameter hemlock logs, hand selected from the local woods of Pennsylvania. Upon arrival at our building yard, the bark is removed using only hand tools (bark spuds and draw knives) to expose the beauty of the hidden wood.

Block pillars are set up in our building yard, leveled and squared to represent the exact foundation size of your choice. Matching sized and shaped logs are carefully chosen for each layer, then scribed and hand carved to a perfect fit, maintaining their natural shape and contour. Upon completion of the log work, the logs are numbered, disassembled, trucked to your building site then reassembled on your foundation, using a logging truck and crane. The time process of building in our yard depends on the size of your home (generally 2-3 months) and the reassembling only takes a few days. You then have the walls of your home on your foundation ready for completion of the roof and interior work.

Hand peeled log posts and railings are used on any porches, decks and lofts. We also incorporate logs into the finishing of a home adding character and craftsmanship wherever possible, thus no two homes are the same. Some of the specialty items can be seen in the photos in this site. We do all custom work and have no set floor plans, but build to your specifications.
